Introduction
“ONE-STOP SHOP FOR SUSTAINABLY AND ETHICALLY MADE PRODUCTS FROM YOUR FAVORITE CONSCIOUS BRANDS”
Background
In December 2018, I completed an accelerated User Experience Design course at General Assembly, which culminated in a comprehensive final project. This project aimed to address a growing demand for sustainable and ethical shopping options by creating a centralized platform that aligns with conscious consumerism. The solution, Conscious Shop, was developed to facilitate easy access to brands that prioritize sustainability and ethical practices.
Challenge
The project’s objective was to design a user-friendly eCommerce platform that allows consumers to quickly find and support sustainable and ethical brands, while simultaneously making a positive impact on local communities and the environment. The challenge involved the entire product lifecycle—conducting user research, designing, prototyping, testing, and presenting the final solution—within the tight deadline of just one week.
My Role
As the sole Product Manager and Designer for this project, I was responsible for every aspect of the development of Conscious Shop. This included conducting user research to understand the needs and preferences of conscious consumers, defining the product strategy, and designing the entire user experience from scratch. I created wireframes and prototypes, performed usability testing, and iterated on the design based on feedback. Additionally, I managed the project timeline, ensuring that all deliverables were completed within the one-week timeframe. The final presentation showcased a comprehensive solution that met the needs of sustainable shoppers while emphasizing ethical brand alignment.

Design Process
The design process for the immersive UX Design course at General Assembly was an intensive, hands-on experience that encompassed the full product development lifecycle. This included user research, ideation, wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing, all within a fast-paced, iterative environment aimed at producing user-centered, innovative solutions.
